San Jose Regeneration Against Destruction (R.A.D), is working hard this year to expand its work into new areas. In order to do this we are looking for funds to meet the needs of our projects which include free markets, grow your own feed your own, and other organizing efforts. Many of you know about our free markets we've had them for over a year, and successfully held them at no cost to the community. Many times we were spending our own money to purchase bags, supplies for hygiene packs, and waters. On average each free market cost R.A.D's members 100 dollars.
Our newest project involves us embarking on a way to spread awareness about the importance of growing your own and feeding your own. We have began construction of garden boxes and will be working with Veggilution and other community gardens to spread access to food growing. The boxes are made of found wood, and other materials we have purchased. The average cost of each box to make is about 20 dollars, but we will be making as many as possible to make sure we can feed our communities.
We have a limited number of shirts for those of you who donate 20$ or more. They are HAND MADE tye-dyed "School is my Hustle" Shirts. Which were dyed by us so our sweat and labor went into this shirt! We hope you will consider donating to promote our work and help us move forward.
We cannot wait to see what the year has for us. We sincerely love our community that has supported our work and we want to grow and with your help we know we can be successful.
