Kummer Family Medical Expenses

Hello Friends,

We are starting this fundraiser for the most beautiful young family I know. My sweet Sister Shelby & her Husband Kyle are undergoing what no family should have to experience with the recent accident that left Kyle badly injured in the Burn unit in Salt Lake City with Shelby caring for their twin babies and preschooler at home. While Kyle is strong and in good spirits the road to recovery ❤️‍ will be a long one. Thank you for  your consideration & help in donating and sharing …..

Maybe you are reading this because you know me (Jenna Conover ) Perhaps you know the Kummer family personally,  or maybe you were sent this from a friend. Whatever has brought this families story to your inbox thank you for being here.

Let me tell you a little more about my baby sister & her  sweet family of 5 !
Kyle and Shelby were married on 2/2/2022 the couple shared a beautiful daughter Reagan at the time. They both adored their baby girl & how could they not she’s adorable ! Yes, I’m biased !  The couple focused on parenting Reagan, establishing careers and purchasing their first home ! Last winter Kyle & Shelby tied the knot …..

In an intimate ceremony attended by dear friends and their sweet Reagan. Set in the beautiful mountains of Wyoming it  was pure Kyle & Shelby. Life was good.

Things were  trucking along as planned. The two decided to grow their family by just one more to give Reagan a sibling & grow their love.  Shelby soon became pregnant in the spring of 2022 and to their surprise found out that they would be welcoming not one, but TWO sweet babies by winter. They were going from 3 to 5 just like that !  Being amazing parents they found strength in each other and relished in the news of expanding their family. Kyle was about to have three hunting buddies in pink camo ! Thank goodness he’s an amazing girl dad !

In Jan of this year, the couple welcomed Brynlee & Kendall via emergency C section gaining notoriety as Jackson Holes first set of New Years twins on record.

Adjusting to their new life as a family of five Kyle took a new position closer to home, and Shelby left her career behind to care for her now 3 girls under 4 & recover from surgery. The nights are sleepless & the days are long but there is so much love in this house. Shelby & Kyle have been handling it all in stride while they focus on their family. No one could have predicted that just as things were starting to settle down after the birth of the babies tragedy would strike.

Unfortunately, a call came in early this week that Kyle, Shelby's beloved husband, devoted father, & loving friend was injured in a tragic accident that left him with 12% of his body badly burned. Kyle was being rushed by ambulance to Pinedale where a chopper would be taking him to Salt Lake Burn ICU. Immediately family friends jumped in to take the babies and Shelby was on the road leaving her 10-week-old twins & Reagan for the first time to meet Kyle in Utah.
A team of specialists got Kyle stable and worked on assessing his burns. Kyle has been in the burn ICU since he arrived with 3rd, 2nd, & 1st degree burns to his hands, face, back, neck, & head with his hands being the most severe. Over 90% of Kyle's hands were affected The surgeons are still working to determine the exact treatment plan which takes time & careful observations of the current burns. Nonetheless, grafting, surgeries, and a long road to healing are undoubtedly in store.
There are a lot of unknowns right now and we are praying for a full recovery for Kyle, & strength and peace for Shelby.
Shelby is a 6-hour round trip drive from Salt Lake, and for now the sole parent to the girls staring down a long long road head.
Please join me in supporting this amazing family. The funds raised here will go to expenses for Shelby & the girls to travel back & forth and take some of the burden off financially so that Kyle can just focus on healing & Shelby can focus on caring for her children and husband.
The amount of time Kyle will be in the hospital, the travel, & no one working the strain would be enormous on any family. I know that this hard-working couple would never ask for help but the simple truth is they will need it.
As their family we wish we could take it all away but we can’t.
What we can do is reach out & ask you to do the same so we can help support them, even if just by lifting them up in prayer & with our finances to help ease the strain there.
If I find out more about specific needs I will absolutely pass it along.
Please send all your prayers and positivity their way, and if you feel so compelled and are able, any little bit will help in what will no doubt be a long, expensive journey.

I will use this page to keep you all updated on progress. While I know we all want to get as much info as possible please wait for updates and allow the family to concentrate on what is at hand.

Thank you all & God Bless!
