Help us start over

My name is Janelle and I’m a single mom to two beautiful children, Daniel (2 years) and Lydia (5 months). In April, i found the courage to finally leave my abusive marriage.

My ex and i had been together for 15 years. In the last few years, the violence started to occur more often. I tried separating from him countless times but he threatened me, so i stayed out of fear. On April 20th, he had a violent episode at our store and everything was caught on camera. He was arrested and has been incarcerated ever since.

I’ve never been someone to ask for help. But as I try to piece my life back together, I’m finding that i need more help than i realized. I’m unsure what my ex will be facing for jail time but I do know that when he gets out, I won’t feel safe. My plans for the money I raise is to first put together a safety net for a uhaul rental, hotel, food, and gas in the event that i need to leave when he gets out of jail.

The rest of the money would go to;

-Renting a storage unit for all of my belongings so that i can fully move out of our apartment.

-Fixing my vehicle that needs a new set of tires, transmission work, and other minor repairs.

-Registering, inspecting, and insuring my vehicle

-Paying for a therapist. Some offices are booking new Mainecare patients months and months out, but I may be able to start seeing someone sooner if I am self-pay.

-Attorney fees if I need to hire someone to help me with my case
