When my sister-in-law Jess Graham, told me she was now a great-aunt, I was so excited for her and her family! The birth of a baby is such a special time; however, when Jess told me a bit about the baby's arrival and the family's current situation, I realized that their special time was coming with many challenges. I wanted to help and thought others might too.
On December 3rd, baby Greyson Richard Duffy was born prematurely at 27 weeks to Mom, Amy, and Dad, Brady (Jess and Brett Graham's nephew). Weighing in at 2 lbs 6 ounces, Greyson has a long road of growth and development ahead of him.
Amy was flown from Sudbury to Toronto on Dec 1 because her water broke. Despite efforts to hold off her labor and delivery, the decision had to be made to deliver Greyson via c-section on Dec 3. Amy and Greyson are currently staying at Sunnybrook Hospital, but thankfully Amy will have accommodation at Ronald McDonald House in the coming days.
The current situation is not an easy one. With the cost of their living expenses in Sudbury, it will be near impossible for Brady to be in Toronto with Amy and Greyson for any length of time as he will need to be working to make ends meet.
As Greyson has a long journey ahead of him, we aim to raise funds to assist Brady and Amy with expenses during this very difficult time. The hope is to relieve some of their financial stresses so that Brady can be in Toronto with his family, especially through the most critical stages of Greyson’s development. Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be such an incredible support for this young family.
Thank you!!
