Krishni's Fiji Volunteering Project

Hi Family and Friends,
I'm raising money to carry out a volunteering project in Fiji with Think Pacific. It is a one month expedition in summer, which will challenge me and put me out of my comfort zone (especially no social media or electricity for a month!). Out there, I will be living with a Fijian host family and working as a team to contribute to education, youth and sports development projects, which are making an huge difference to the lives of children living in hardship. The children in these rural villages in Fiji do not have extra-curricular activities and it is crucial that we implement development in their youth sports department. Think Pacific has a partnership with the Fijian govt. which ensures that the volunteer work is guided to promote their values and this also avoids the issue of 'voluntourism'. The charity is dependant on volunteers and I will be working in rural schools and villages across remote islands to further their education; alongside their curriculum, we also advocate important issues such as public and sexual health, women's rights (etc), as well as share our own values. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, and any donation would be really helpful, so please help me reach my goal!
