Allison is doing well and has been discharged. Arty remains in the hospital and is continuing to receive extraordinary medical care.
On October 30th, Mitch posted the following message to Facebook --
From the minute we learned we were having twins, we knew there could be complications. When Allison was admitted for TTTS we were aware of the possibilities. When TTTS advanced from stage1 to stage3 those possibilities became more of a reality.
First 72 hours is critical for any infant. Even more so for a premie.. when the boys made their appearance last Friday we were elated to welcome them to this crazy world. They’re perfect. Simply perfect..
During the last 48 hours we’ve had some ups and downs with the boys, and boy are they fighters. But there’s only so much they’re little bodies can handle..
Yesterday around 1:30pm after roughly 24 hours of fighting bacteria Kellen coded.. the doctors did everything they could and got him back to continue his fight. Around 6:45 last night, the moment momma finished reading him his very first book, Kellen coded again.. E. Coli had attacked his fragile little body and caused multi-organ failure.
With a heavy heart we had to say goodbye to our perfect little angel Kellen, last night. Words cannot express the heartfelt sorrow we have felt, that we couldn’t protect him from this, that we couldn’t save him, but after watching him suffer the last 12 hours, we knew it was time.
Be at peace little angel. Watch over Arthur. We love you so much, and miss you already sweet baby boy
We HAVE to be strong for little Arty right now, and with your love and thoughts we can do that.
Please support the Kring family during this difficult time.
We want to do everything we can to make this easier on their family -- to make sure they don’t have to think about or focus on anything but Arty, their memories of Kellen and each other. This will help them to cover meals, medical expenses, memorial expenses, and whatever they need during unimaginable time.
