Koie in need of help

Donation protected
Hello all,

This fundraiser has been set up by Koie's friends from his previous workplace at EPIQ.

Koie was diagnosed with long Covid cognitive dysfunction and Hashimoto's disease back in October 2021. In addition, he suffers with short-term dementia, has speech control issues, and has suffered a number of other health issues since being sick with CoViD in April of 2021. He is currently undergoing treatment in a special long covid program but has been declared unfit by his doctors to work.

Koie lives off a daily activities list that helps him take care of himself but mostly relies on his wife to provide full-time care. Koie often loses his ability to speak/communicate well and sometimes blanks out for hours on bad days. His wife Jennifer, is providing full time care to him.

Koie worked for a construction company in an executive role leading the IT group. Shortly after he was diagnosed with this medical condition, he lost his job.

Koie and his wife lived in Cobb County, Marietta, until March of 2022. Due to financial hardship and a need to be close to family in his condition a decision was made to sell their house, trucks, collectibles and anything of value, to pay off their debt and substantial medical bills.

Currently they both live in a camper in an RV park close to his family with limited income through LT disability coverage.

Koie and Jennifer are trying to adapt to this new way of living and are seeking moral and financial support from their friends and relatives.

Koie's wish is to do everything possible to Jennifer and help her lead an independent life if something were to happen to him. Their plan is to fix up some land they own to move their camper to and work to keep their monthly living expenses as low as possible while Koie is in treatment and focused on his recovery.

To keep their monthly living expenses low, the following work needs to be performed at the site they own.

1) Get new well pump/piping installed to get well running again
2) Replace electrical pole and electrical box, get inspected
3) Get septic tank relocated and field lines replaced
4) Dirt work/gravel for driveway/camper pad
5) 20' shipping container to use for storage of the goods from our home in Atlanta
6) Used car that provides good gas mileage
7) Solar panel setup to go off-grid and reduce our cost of living

The approximate cost for the above comes up to 50K. If we can manage to collect at least half of this amount, that will help them get out of misery quickly. Koie and Jennifer would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.

Their contact details are Jennifer : [email redacted] / [phone redacted]
