Kobi The Brave

Hi My name is Emma and I’m raising money for one of my best friends little boy who was born 11 weeks premature and has suffered life changing health issues as a result.

Kirsty, Kobi’s Mummy was diagnosed with pre eclampsia and was told that she would need an emergency c-section. Kobi was born on the 17th of July weighing just a tiny 3lb 3oz. He was doing amazing at birth and went went straight onto CPAP for 12 hours but unfortunately suffered a collapsed lung and the doctors had to insert a chest drain to drain the fluid and let the lung heal. The following day they tried to unclamp his chest drain but Kobi didn’t respond well and his drain was clamped again. He was later given a brain scan which showed he had a stage 4 bleed on the brain and the scan was showing signs of a stroke.

He was scanned 3 days later and this scan showed swelling and bleeding on the right side.

Kobi is so far responding well but the family have been told that due to the extent of the brain bleed he will highly likely be severely disabled. Until he’s old enough to start to make major milestones the family won’t know the severity of the stroke and brain bleed or how badly effected Kobi is. He will spend at least the next 10 weeks in Hospital. This involves lots of commuting for Kirsty and Daniel who also have other children at home. We would like to use the money to help them with these costs along with money to help purchase much needed aids for the home and for Kobi as he gets bigger.

This family have been through so much with losing two babies to miscarriage before their beautiful rainbow baby Kobi was born. I would love if we could all chip in just even a small amount to help this family in what is the worst time of their lives. They are the kindest people and Kirsty is an amazing friend.
