On November 11th, our family experienced a devastating house fire that resulted in the total loss of our home.

The fire began as a chimney fire and spread unnoticed through the open attic space for an extended period before smoke became visible. Our son, who was upstairs at the time, was the first to notice smoke coming down from the ceiling. We were able to evacuate safely, and thankfully, everyone made it out alive—including our two cats.

The fire department responded quickly and worked tirelessly to contain the blaze. Due to the nature of the fire and the efforts required to extinguish it from inside the home, the damage was extensive. In addition to severe fire and smoke damage, the house sustained significant water damage, and it has since been declared a total loss. We are facing a full teardown and rebuild, which will take many months.

The hardest part has been seeing our children process the loss of their personal and irreplaceable belongings—memories, photos, and keepsakes that can never be replaced. While we are incredibly grateful for our safety, the emotional and financial impact has been overwhelming.
