open eyes - mit dem Rad nach Afrika

wir sind Lennard, Ravn, Philipp und Nils. Vier aufgeschlossene junge Menschen, die wieder ein Stück mehr von der Welt sehen und dabei die Augen für derzeit relevante Themen offen halten möchten. Innerhalb von fünf Monaten wollen wir ab Oktober ungefähr 12.000 Kilometer mit dem Fahrrad zurücklegen und es so von Kiel nach Malawi schaffen.
Diese Reise wollen wir mit euch teilen. Ihr findet uns auf Instagram oder bei Telegram . Wenn ihr Lust habt uns auf der Reise zu unterstützen, dann würden wir uns über eine Spende für Projekte, die uns am Herzen liegen, freuen. Das gesammelte Geld kommt zu 100% bei den Projekten an und wird unter Mare Liberum e.V., dem Bildungsprojekt FACE und der Stiftung Klimawald aufgeteilt. Mit diesem Geld sollen Schulen gebaut und ausgestattet, die Einhaltung der Meschenrechte von Geflüchteten in der Ägäis beobachtet und Wälder auf bisher landwirtschaftlich genutzten Flächen in Deutschland gepflanzt werden.
Mare Liberum e.V.: beobachtet die Einhaltung von Menschenrechten für Geflüchtete in der Ägäis. Mit zwei Schiffen und von Land aus dokumentieren sie die Situation auf der gefährlichen Fluchtroute zwischen der Türkei und Griechenland, sowie auf den griechischen Inseln. Ziel ist, Menschenrechtsverletzungen, wie Pushbacks zu dokumentieren und auf diese Aufmerksam zu machen. In 2020 konnten sie alleine 312 Vorfälle, bei denen 9.798 Personen illegal zurückgedrängt worden sind, zählen. Mit deren Arbeit möchten sie Solidarität und fundamentale Menschenrechte stärken. Mare Liberum ist politisch und religiös unabhängig und finanziert sich ausschließlich durch Spenden.
Bei unserer Routenplanung ist uns immer wieder aufgefallen, was für ein Privileg wir, als Europäer haben. Wir fahren mit dem Rad eine Route als Abenteuerreise, die andere als lebensgefährliche Fluchtroute nutzen. Mit dem Spendenbeitrag möchten wir Mare Liberum unterstützen und hoffen dadurch einen kleinen Beitrag zu einer sichereren Fluchtroute zu leisten. Face: Als Bildungsorganisation für nachhaltige Entwicklung unterstützen sie junge Menschen in Entwicklungsländern, unabhängig von Hautfarbe, Herkunft, Geschlecht und Religion, sich charakterlich weiterzuentwickeln und ihren Weg in die wirtschaftliche Unabhängigkeit zu finden. Dazu bildet FACE ein internationales Netzwerk aus privaten, öffentlichen, kirchlichen und unternehmerischen Unterstützer*innen. Die Motivation für ihre Arbeit ziehen sie aus dem christlichen Glauben und dem Prinzip der Nächstenliebe.
Nils hat ein Jahr in Malawi für FACE gearbeitet und dort Räumlichkeiten gebaut, um der jährlich wachsenden Anzahl an Schüler*innen gerecht zu werden. Bereits elf Klassenräume für über 500 Personen wurden in den vergangenen Jahren aufgebaut und eingerichtet. Für ein angenehmes Raumklima sorgt die ausgeklügelte Dachkonstruktion. Die Klassenräume wurden so konstruiert, dass die heiße Luft über das Dach entweichen und kühlere Luft einströmen kann. Mit den Spenden soll ein neuer Doppelklassenraum für den Bildungscampus in Zalewa errichtet werden.
Wir wollen mit dem Rad in Zalewa halt machen, um uns das Projekt persönlich anzuschauen. Hier bekommt ihr einen kleinen Einblick.
Stiftung Klimawald: Die gemeinnützige Stiftung Klimawald setzt sich aktiv für die Schaffung neuer Wälder in Deutschland ein. Diese Wälder entziehen auf natürlichem Weg bei ihrem Wachstum Kohlenstoffdioxid aus der Atmosphäre und helfen so, die Effekte des Klimawandels effizient und langanhaltend abzumildern. Die Klimawälder werden nur auf Stiftungsgrund gepflanzt, damit sie dauerhaft als Waldflächen erhalten bleiben. Jeder weitere Quadratmeter neuer Klimawald ist für die uns folgenden Generationen ein lebendiger Beweis unseres heutigen Engagements für eine lebenswerte Umwelt. Die Stiftung Klimawald garantiert, dass für jede zweckgebundene Spende neuer Wald entstehen wird.
Als Teil der Waldjugend hat Lennard schon oft mit der Stiftung Klimawald zusammengearbeitet und so schon einige Bäume gepflanzt. Häufig mangelt es allerdings an geeigneten Flächen, sodass wir hoffen, mit diesem Spendenaufruf dazu beizutragen, dass weiterhin Aufforstungen stattfinden können.

From the 10th of October on, we want to cover around 12,000 kilometers by bike within five months and make it from Kiel to Malawi. We want to share this journey with you. With this money, schools are to be built and equipped, the observance of the human rights of refugees in the Aegean Sea to be observed and forests to be planted on areas previously used for agriculture in Germany.

During the planning of our route, we noticed again and again what a privilege we, as Europeans, have. We cycle a route as an adventure trip that others use as a life-threatening escape route. To this end, FACE forms an international network of private, public, church and business supporters. They draw the motivation for their work from the Christian faith and the principle of charity. Nils worked for FACE in Malawi for a year and built space there to cope with the growing number of students every year. Eleven classrooms for over 500 people have already been set up and furnished in recent years. The ingenious roof construction ensures a pleasant room climate. The classrooms were designed in such a way that the hot air can escape through the roof and cooler air can flow in. The donations are to be used to build a new double classroom for the education campus in Zalewa. We want to stop by bike in Zalewa to see the project personally. Here you get a little insight.
Climate Forest Foundation : The non-profit Climate Forest Foundation actively supports the creation of new forests in Germany. As they grow, these forests naturally remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and thus help to mitigate the effects of climate change in an efficient and long-lasting manner. The climatic forests are only planted on foundation land so that they are permanently preserved as forest areas. Every additional square meter of new climate forest is living proof of our current commitment to an environment worth living in for the generations to come. The Climate Forest Foundation guarantees that new forest will be created for every earmarked donation. As part of the forest youth, Lennard has often worked with the Climate Forest Foundation and has planted a few trees. Often, however, there is a lack of suitable areas, so we hope that this appeal for donations will help ensure that afforestation can continue.
