Hi, our names are Daelyn and Grace, we are from a rural farming community in Southern Mantioba. Just like most people we have both seen first hand the effects that homelessness has on people; but mostly in the city of Winnipeg which is the heart of Manitoba. Grace has been on a few youth Mission trips, but one stuck out to her, on that trip they went to downtown Winnipeg and they went to different shelters donating money, making food and helping people in the community. The feeling Grace felt was beyond sadness that people are suffering and living like this everyday. Everytime that I ( Daelyn) go to Winnipeg, it just makes my heart sink looking at some of the realities that people in our community face. I knew I wanted to help or try to make a change but I knew that us two girls wouldn't be able to do that on our own. Now, Grace and I have the oppurtunity with help from our teacher, Jennifer Williamson and Leanne Thompson (Daelyn's Mom) to try and make a change in the heart of our province. Our inspiration started with a simple school project about Human Rights, it then sparked us to go further into action looking into the topic of homelessness and doing something about it. This GoFundMe would greatly help us to get clothing for Homeless Shelters and to purchase food for Food Banks in downtown Winnipeg. All donations that aren't put towards the clothing or food will be donated to Main Street Project who works alongside End Homelessness Winnipeg. Please help us bring our small town dream into a reality.
