Kiya - 18 Just diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma AGAIN

Donation protected
As some of you may know on the 23rd April 2021 I was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. Being only 15 at the time. I went through 6 cycles of chemotherapy and can only describe the pain as the worst I have ever felt even to this day. But I was lucky that, after 6 months of treatment, in December 2021 I was told I was in remission and the cancer has finally gone.

A relief for my friends, family and me, especially when I was at a stage 4. Recently I reached the 2 year cancer free mark and in the last few years I have been getting back on my feet again and getting things as close to 'normal' as I possibly can. I was able to get a job, start college, finish college, get a driving license, get into university studying the course I've always wanted to do and most importantly experience being a fresher at university ;).

But unfortunately on the 19th April 2024 just 4 days before hitting the 3 years since being diagnosed mark. I was told that my cancer was back. This was found out by me finding a lump on the right of my chest underneath my collar bone. They wanted to do a biopsy to be safe and the first one came back as fatty tissue and so we immediately relaxed and thought nothing of it. But due to my history they wanted to do a second biopsy to completely confirm. And so that leaves us here. We will have to do some more tests to completely understand exactly what stage we are dealing with. The good news I guess is that it is the same type of blood cancer and not something new that we are dealing with.

It looks as though I will have chemotherapy for a few weeks and then if all goes well I will have to have a stem cell transplant to help prevent this happening again. So all that time spent getting back on my feet has brought me back to square one, which sucks quite frankly but we did it once and we can do it again!

This time around I want to start another one of these to help support the charities who helped and the ones that I didn't get to fully give back to the first time around. So the money will be split equally between these 3 charities:

The Little Princess Trust
Wishes4Kids
Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group

And maybe a few others along the journey which will be shared if a decision is made.

Every single penny counts and would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for all the support and donations - Kiya x
