Help Us Support Children and Families in Northern Uganda — Every Dollar Goes Directly to Patient Care
Hello and welcome from Team Kisoboka Uganda! Together, we form a group of medical students at the Long School of Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. This summer we will travel to Uganda alongside physicians as a part of several ongoing projects including clinical evaluations, HIV medication delivery, and research on Nodding Syndrome, a rare disease endemic to the Northern Ugandan and South Sudanese region.
Our team of medical students and faculty are partnering with local leaders, healthcare workers, and organizations in northern Uganda to continue long-standing, community-driven work focused on improving health outcomes in the region — especially for children impacted by Nodding Syndrome (NS), a devastating and poorly understood neurological condition.
Students and faculty from our institution have worked alongside incredible partners like WEND Africa, Kisoboka Uganda, and healthcare providers in Gulu and surrounding communities. Together, we've conducted clinical evaluations, physical exams, and home visits for children living with NS, and we're building tools to help community organizations track the long-term impact of their support programs. If you are unable to donate today, please share this with friends and family to spread the word!
We thank you in advance for your support, and appreciate your consideration of our cause! Through you, "Kisoboka" ("It is possible" in Acholi) can be a reality for those we serve in Gulu and beyond. Beera bulungi! (Stay well!)
