Kirsty Ferguson Memorial Fundraiser

On the 25th March 2020 our friend, Kirsty Ferguson, died.  Although she had felt unwell for a few days, there was no indication of the severity of her illness until she was admitted to hospital.  Unfortunately, despite the best effort of the medical staff during this very challenging time, nothing could be done to save her.  Kirsty’s death came as a huge shock to us all, and has left her wife, Heather, the boys, Kirsty and Heather’s families and their friends utterly bereft.  In a cruel twist of fate, the current situation also means that those who love her will be unable to say farewell to her at her funeral. Kirsty was an amazing person who gave of herself selflessly to help others.  Compassionate and caring, with a wicked sense of humour, she had a huge impact on the lives of the young people she worked with, many of whom were at their most vulnerable when she supported them.  Her patience and empathy were remarkable, with her always considering the emotional and practical needs of her pupils and fighting tirelessly on their behalf.  It was felt that rather than sending flowers, Kirsty would prefer to see the money going to those who need it most.  Therefore, the money raised here will be donated to Airdrie Foodbank and Action for Children; two charities that have done a great deal to support the young people in the community that Kirsty has served for over a decade.  Please do anything you can to support this fundraiser in Kirsty’s memory; donate if you can, tell others and share this page on social media.
