My young cousin is currently living in deeply unsafe and heartbreaking conditions. Her biological parents have refused to enroll her in any form of schooling (not even homeschooling) putting her development, education, and future at serious risk. She’s isolated, confused, and growing up without the structure, protection, or love that every child deserves.

Her two older brothers are now being raised by our grandparents. They only visit their parents briefly and dislike staying for long. Both struggle with behavioral issues stemming from their unstable upbringing, but they’re enrolled in school, participate in activities, and are slowly finding stability.

Their younger sister, however, remains solely in her parents’ care. They rarely allow her to see the rest of the family. When she visits our grandparents, the atmosphere becomes tense and hostile because of her brothers’ behavior. They often lash out at her with cruel words, mock her appearance, and ridicule her for not being allowed to go to school. They've even yanked at or physically attacked her during visits. I’ve had to personally intervene and my phone got slapped out of my hand once.

Her parents have further isolated her by telling her she cannot celebrate holidays or eat certain foods (like beef) due to a religious conversion they’ve imposed solely on her and themselves. They are not welcome at family gatherings and are estranged from everyone.

What breaks my heart most is that she’s a sweet, smart, funny, and otherwise healthy child. She has a warm personality, a gentle spirit, and so much untapped potential. She loves to play tag, interacts well with other kids, and doesn’t let anything get in the way of having a good time. She deserves a chance to grow up in a safe, nurturing home where she can simply be a child.

We are very close, and I am fully prepared to give her that chance. If placed with me, she’ll have:

I am a responsible, healthy young adult in my 20s and the eldest cousin on both sides of my family. No criminal record/hospitalizations, a clean driving record, and I’m about to complete my degree in a field that will lead to stable, long-term income. I currently work part-time and take on 8-hour shifts whenever I’m not at college, while maintaining a healthy balance. I’ve never smoked, drank, or used drugs. I love to cook and bake and live a calm, grounded lifestyle. Own a paid off car that has space for a carseat and an active CA driver's license/insurance.

I must go through an extensive legal process. This includes terminating her parents’ rights, hiring an ethical private investigator, completing required adoption-related education and home studies, and appearing in court with full documentation.

This is time-sensitive. Every day she stays in her current environment is another day she falls behind in school, misses critical developmental milestones, and is exposed to more trauma. The sooner I can raise the funds, the sooner I can offer her the life, safety, and love she deserves.

For legal and safety reasons, please do not ask for real names, specific locations, or identifying details about the child or family members involved. This fundraiser is being shared with great care to protect everyone’s privacy.
