500km ride from Eindhoven to Paddington for KingswayCARES
On 7th - 10th September 2026, a team of 10 cyclists will take on a 500km ride over 4 days from Eindhoven in the Netherlands to Paddington in London, UK.
The challenge was initiated by Ian Gilbey, Managing Director of Cyberbridge Services, who will also be part of the cycling team. He’ll be joined by seven employees from Cyberbridge and Forescout, alongside Kingsway Care’s Founder, Olly Carter, and Senior CareGiver, Arthur Haines.
Together, they’ll be cycling from the Forescout office in Eindhoven to their UK office in Paddington, raising funds for a cause that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
So, who are we doing this for?
KingswayCARES is an initiative created by Kingsway Care, an independent homecare provider supporting older and disabled adults to live well at home across Brighton, Hove and Worthing. The KingswayCARES initiative exists to help people in our community who may not have the means to access simple but meaningful experiences that improve their quality of life.
A big part of this is supporting the Food & Friendship Luncheon Club . Twice a week, this welcoming space brings together older people and adults with learning disabilities for a hot meal, companionship, and something to look forward to. For many who attend, this is the highlight of their week. Some may not see anyone else outside of these lunches.
Each session supports over 80 people, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation. The funds raised help to subsidise meals, provide free transport for those who would otherwise be unable to attend, and create a warm, social environment with entertainment and activities.
Kingsway Care doesn’t just financially support the lunches. We also pay our professional CareGivers to help prepare, serve and support each event, because we believe care in the community is about social connections as much as it is about support at home.
Why this matters to us
We see first-hand how social connections can have a huge impact on wellbeing. A shared meal. A laugh with friends. A day out.
Through KingswayCARES, we also help fund special experiences for clients who otherwise couldn’t afford them, whether that’s a day out, a pamper session, or something they’ve always wanted to do.
What your support will do
Every donation will help us:
- Keep the Food & Friendship Luncheon Club running
- Provide meals and transport for those who need it most
- Fund meaningful experiences for people in our local community
£150: weekly ingredients and fareshare food costs
£50: pays for six isolated guests to be collected (and returned home) and brought to lunch club for some much needed company and food.
£20: pays for birthday cakes to share with six people so they can have a cake on their birthday and be celebrated.
£10: pays for two guests to have lunch
This 500km ride is a challenge for us, but the impact goes far beyond four days of sore legs.
If you choose to support us, you’ll be helping bring social connections and joy to people who need it most.
