The kindredpacket kampaign is an organised effort from a collective of East/Southeast Asian individuals in collaboration with RUMAH, BritishChineseBiz and Britain’s East and South East Asian Network (BESEA.N) looking to :
- Elevate and amplify voices, works, businesses of E/SEAsians
- Bridge privilege gaps through fundraising
- The cultural appreciation of Lunar New Year
- Offer a safe space to celebrate LNY away from our families
- Lift spirits of the wider community as we #stayathome

How will you spend Lunar New Year in 2021?
We may not be able to be with loved ones,
or return home and visit our families this year,
but some of us may not even have a home to go back to...
What if this year, we can collectively give a
KIND RED PACKET
for the un-homed and the elderly
by doing something we love with our communities?
Lunar New Year is when
many of us from East/Southeast Asia exchange red packets
(red envelope / Lai See 利是/ Hong Bao 紅包 / Ang Pao)
as a symbol of good luck.
So why not extend this tradition a little further to those truly in need of support?

An open call to all who identify as East/Southeast Asians or celebrate the tradition of Lunar New Year across the world to host a virtual gathering over the period of LNY to raise funds for the un-homed and elderly.
Gatherings can be a virtual reimagination of whatever you typically get up to over LNY from cookalongs, karaoke or mahjong nights to yoga classes, performances - you name it.
Nothing is too casual, nothing is too grand. ;)
