Hi Parents,

To quote Barbara's email Wednesday night, "... we see our teachers as an extension of our family" - and I couldn't agree more.

They help us raise, develop, and shape our children into who they are today, which is the foundation of who they will be in the future.

From my experience, they spend more time with my children during the week than I do; sad, but it's the truth.

When I first made the decision to keep our children home due to COVID-19, I panicked. How am I going to work from home, pay for daycare, buy food in bulk, pay my mortgage, etc.?  A weight was lifted off my shoulders when KinderCare reimbursed us a week of tuition and said they will not charge us moving forward while they remain closed.

That relief I felt 2 weeks ago now means 25 members of our Ray Ave family will not receive pay for at least another month. Today, the people who are there for us every day of the week are hurting. They're worried. They're feeling helpless.

We as parents are also hurting, are worried, and feeling helpless. One thing I keep saying to myself over and over again is, "we're all in this together."

In these uncertain times, it's important to not only take care of our immediate family, but also take care of our extended family; our Ray Ave KinderCare staff. They continue to support us with Spirit Week and creative ideas to keep our children entertained and learning.

I am donating 1 week of tuition. Everyone's situation is different, but please consider donating if you can. Every dollar will go directly to these unsung heroes we drop our kids off with every day.

- GoFundMe charges 2.9% + $0.30 in fees
- GoFundMe will ask you for a "tip" when you're putting a donation in. I did $0 due to the fees
- If 80 families donated $125, we would hit the goal of $10k. (That would mean $400 for every staff member -2.9% in fees.)
- If 80 families donated 1 week's tuition, we would be able to donate 3x - 4x that number
