Kim and Mikes IVF journey

UPDATE - Kim and Mikes most recent IVF transfer using the frozen egg from their first round was sadly unsuccessful, we are now doing everything we can to rally up support and donations to help get them in a better position to fund a new IVF round with the hopes they can start this in April 2024. Please , please donate anything you can.

Hello everyone. I’m making this page on behalf of my beautiful sister-in-law and her Husband Mike.

Since the moment I met them both, they have been nothing but supportive, kind, welcoming and instantly became family to me.

They’d do anything for anyone, they are hard workers, kind hearted, passionate, determined, loving and generous human beings so I’d love nothing more than to help them out in any way possible with their journey to becoming a family.

Kim and Mike have been through so much together. They met during the darkest imaginable time for Kim and her family as Beautiful Lucy, Kim’s mother, was losing her battle with cancer. Even though their relationship was so new, Mike stood strong by Kim’s side through everything and held her hand through the darkest of times, which I’m sure is a huge reason for why they are such an unshakable team today.

Kim has had to endure 2 heartbreaking ectopic pregnancies, the second resulting in a surgery to remove the embedded embryo and one of her Fallopian tubes. This inevitably has made their chances of natural conception a little more difficult which took them towards the decision to go through IVF.

It goes without saying that they without question deserve every shot possible at having the family they so desperately want.

They have both been working tirelessly working multiple jobs to save enough money for their treatment.

They have gone through 1 round of IVF so far and were able to retrieve healthy eggs. Unfortunately the implantation wasn’t successful this time around, however their hope and belief is un-wavered and they are determined to push through and try again with another round. They currently have 1 frozen egg left from their first round of IVF and we are all praying this little egg is the one. From what I’ve seen, IVF is TOUGH, both mentally & physically, it takes a lot of courage and a lot of mental strength and on top of that , a lot of financial hardship.

It isn’t cheap, all the medication needed for each round is incredibly expensive and if the current frozen egg is not successful then another round will cost them around £6000 and unfortunately, they are against natures clock, so we are trying to raise as much money as possible to help go towards that if it comes to it.

If the implantation of the second frozen egg is successful and a second round of IVF is no longer needed, the money raised here will be donated to Tommys Child charity.

If you could spare anything at all to go towards their journey to becoming a family, it would mean the absolute world. Your donations will go towards funding another round of IVF and or any medication needed for the journey which will give Kim and Mike an incredible chance at bringing a baby into the world and starting their family❤️
