We have made this page for the Hoyle family (my sister) who is now about to go through her second fight of cancer

For Kiersten, this all began with finding a lump in her left breast during the end of 2021. She was 38 weeks pregnant with her son Kaito and planning to host family for the holiday in her new home. She received the news days before Thanksgiving that the lump was cancerous (DCIS with HER2+ microinvasive cells). A week later it was discovered that she was also severely preclamptic and had to be rushed in for induction at 39 weeks pregnant. Days after the birth of her son, she began steps for a double mastectomy and her fight against cancer.

During 2022, Kiersten had the challenge of navigating the world as a new mom/caring for Kaito, while not being permitted to put any weight on her chest or hold her baby while recovering. Nigel and Kiersten have worked as a team to cover the stress of these medical expenses and lost time/income from work.

Flash forward to Christmas 2022, when life had started to normalize, a new lump was discovered and biopsied to find that cancer had returned. For Kiersten and her family this means that they will be planning a more aggressive fight against cancer. Doctors want her to start chemo/hormone therapy before having surgery and also wants her to meet with a reproductive therapist to freeze her eggs. Next week she will be told more of a plan and I will update everyone after.
