Each year, The CPCA supports more than 15,000 abused and at-risk children and more than 3,000 adults. We are the only agency in Dutchess County working to help abused children — and to educate adults to prevent future abuse.

We receive funding from a variety of public and private sources — but rely on individuals and corporate donations for support.  Every year, we host an annual benefit that raises $100,000  to support our life-saving work.  Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to cancel our annual benefit planned for 4/23/2020.  Without this funding, our critical programs face closure. 

While this loss is devastating for our agency, the inability to protect a child from child abuse is intolerable.  
 
To make matters worse, we know that child abuse doesn't stop because of natural disasters like the COVID-19 pandemic, it increases. Hospitals are already reporting increases in the number of severe child abuse cases they are treating. 

We anticipate the number of child abuse case will increase in our community, as well.  Now more than ever, our staff are working around the clock to find creative ways to reach children and support parents while in quarantine.  We are also diligently preparing for an influx of cases in our Child Advocacy Center , but we need your help.  

Although times are tough for everyone,  we ask that you please consider a donation of any amount, or even just sharing this message.  The children of our community are relying on us, and the thought of not being able to provide support when they need us most is unbearable for us.  We hope we can count on your support.
