About This Campaign
Kidney Warriors Network was created from a deep understanding of what it means to live with kidney disease from a young age—and how isolating that journey can feel for children and their families.
As someone who has personally lived with kidney disease for over 23 years, I know the reality of long hospital stays, dialysis treatments, missed school, and the emotional weight that comes with this condition. But beyond the medical side, I also know how important it is for children to feel supported, understood, and not alone since I found out I had kidney disease at only 12 years old. I have been wanting to create this nonprofit for over 10 years, but didn't know where to start. However, it's better late than never, as this is my passion and it would be such an honor to help children with kidney disease especially as someone who firsthand understand how they feel.
This initiative is dedicated to building a supportive community for children and teens living with kidney disease—offering emotional support, education, resources, and hope.
Why This Matters
Children living with kidney disease face challenges far beyond medical treatment. It affects their education, friendships, mental health, and family stability. Many families also struggle financially with treatment costs, transportation, and time away from work.
There are limited resources focused specifically on emotional support and community for pediatric kidney patients. Kidney Warriors Network aims to change that.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Donations will directly support the launch and development of Kidney Warriors Network, including:
- Care packages for children undergoing dialysis or hospitalization
- Educational materials for children and families
- Emotional support resources and outreach programs
- Community awareness campaigns and advocacy efforts
- Development of partnerships with hospitals and healthcare providers
501(c)(3) Nonprofit Formation
A portion of the funds will also be used to formally establish Kidney Warriors Network as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
This includes:
- IRS filing fees for nonprofit registration
- Legal and administrative setup costs
- Formation of bylaws and governance structure
- Compliance and documentation required for tax-exempt status
This step is essential to ensure transparency, long-term sustainability, and the ability to expand support services for children nationwide.
A Vision for the Future
The long-term goal of Kidney Warriors Network is to become a trusted nonprofit organization providing consistent emotional support, education, advocacy, and community for children and teens living with kidney disease.
Every donation helps move this vision forward and ensures that no child has to face kidney disease alone.
