GAA VOLUNTEER’S HOUR OF NEED

On Saturday November 12th, St Mary’s GFC members , aimed to Kick a Point in all 32 GAA County Grounds, with the permission of each County and the GAA, 16 St Marys teams travelled to 2 neighbouring Counties, were they kicked a point for Seamie along with some well known sporting faces. Some members kicked their point during half time of club championship games, Great excitement. We also managed to get a team to London to kick a point in Ruislip.
1 CLUB, 33COUNTIES, 1 DAY

THE REASON FOR OUR FUNDRAISER:
Seamus Brady ,a lifelong member and Friend of St Marys GFC in County Meath and has been actively involved as a player, Coach, and a volunteer at the club his father Jimmy was a founding member of. It was in his capacity as a hard-working volunteer that Seamie fell from the Clubhouse roof at St Mary’s GFC grounds in September 2015.
Such was the severity of Seamie’s injuries that he has been unable to work since is unlikely to work again. It’s hard to imagine, you head down to your local club to help and leave with life limiting injuries and in financial ruin.
Seamie now finds himself 60 years of age, in daily pain and unable to provide for his family. The injuries along with the financial uncertainty and hardship that Seamie faces as he enters latter years is taking a significant toll on Seamie both, emotionally and psychologically

We are reaching out to the GAA community and the wider community to #SupportSeamie now in his hour of need, to give Seamie his dignity and financial security back.

The GAA is an organisation that was built by volunteers, its growth and survival going forward will be down to continued volunteer support.
Seamie's dedication to his club and community represents everything that is great about the GAA and our communities.

We are asking that you donate what you can and that you share Seamie’s story so we can give him and the Brady family their lives back. All Money donated will go directly to help Seamie with his recovery, pain injections, pay for medical bills incured, and allow him a better quality of life.
