Asalāmu ʿAlaikum wa Raḥmatullāhi wa Barakātuh,

Our hearts are heavy as we share the story of our beloved grandfather, Khalil Ahmad, who returned to Allah after a sudden brain bleed caused by an aneurysm. His passing has left a deep emptiness in our home and in our hearts, but it has also reminded us of the kindness, generosity, and goodness he carried throughout his life.

Our grandfather was someone who truly loved caring for others. He was generous in quiet, sincere ways — always giving where he could, always supporting those in need. One of the most meaningful things he did was establishing an orphanage in Pakistan in his name — a place of safety and hope for vulnerable children. This act alone reflects the depth of his compassion and his desire to give back without seeking recognition.

As his grandchildren, we want to continue the goodness he began. We are raising funds through the charity, Muslims in Need, a trusted and well-established organisation, to build a masjid in Pakistan as sadaqah jāriyah for him. This masjid will stand as an ongoing charity — a source of reward for him long after his passing, inshā’Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“When a person dies, their deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.”

Every donation — big or small — will help build a masjid that benefits families, children, and entire communities. May Allah accept every penny given, make it heavy on the scales of good deeds for our grandfather, and bless everyone who contributes with goodness in both worlds.

May Allah forgive his sins, fill his grave with mercy and light, and reunite us with him in Jannah.
Āmeen.

JazākAllāhu Khayran for helping us honour his life in the most meaningful way.
