Fighting an Unlawful ICE Kidnapping in Somerville”

On September 20th at 11:15am, Magdaleno Pineda Avelar(Walter ) was unlawfully taken by masked ICE officers outside his Somerville apartment in board daylight. These officers not only racially profiled him, but also acknowledged he was “legal” and had no warrant or probable cause. However, they still took him into custody. In a remark by Massachusetts State Representative, Mike Connolly, he stated this was an “unlawful, unconstitutional kidnapping based on racial profiling.” Three days later, ICE has yet to publish his location to the public.

Leno is not only a friend to all, but he is a vital member of our Boston community. Everyday, Leno shows up for his friends, his family, and his coworkers. He is a law-abiding member of society with no criminal record, yet he has been a victim to yet another racially-motivated detainment.

Now, we are working with the Massachusetts State Government and Somerville Local Government to bring Leno home. We are asking for donations to cover legal fees and to help support his family while he is in custody.
