Please Support my Eagle Scout Project
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Sam Boyle. I am a Life Scout in Troop 1, North Caldwell, in the process of earning my Eagle rank.
I am working on my Eagle Scout project, in which I will make and install a wooden bench at my town's community pond. My town is adding a nature walking path for residents that will loop around Walker's Pond, and my bench will give people a place to rest and relax.
I was inspired to build this particular bench by a visit to Mohonk Mountain House. Specifically, on the hiking trails, I saw beautiful examples of rustic benches, which blended well with the forest. I was fortunate to spend time with the two carpenters responsible for building these benches, and they taught me how to build one myself!
I am requesting donations to cover the cost for the materials and tools required to build my bench. A few examples are Eastern Cedar logs, a chainsaw mill, sanding tools, carriage bolts, and durable fasteners. I estimate that $400 will be enough to cover the cost. If any excess money is raised, I will re-direct it to the Walker's Pond Conservancy, which maintains and improves the park as well as creating events to bring the community into the park.
Thank for your consideration of my request. All donations are welcome; no amount is too small.
