We are a local group of villagers who are trying to raise the funds to reinstate our village playground as during 2025 is was deemed to be unsafe and thus the Parish Council has had to close it for now.
The Playground was originally installed with a Lottery grant and a grant from BIFFA in 2008 and over the years has been much enjoyed by both the children in the village and the children attending Kymbrook School. However although the village have been maintaining it, this years ROSPA report identified some serious issues which are outside the scope of the village handyman and thus with no insurance the playground had to be closed.
A group of parents have now got together to raise the funds required to complete all the required repairs and the Parish Council have agreed to match fund us ( to a maximum amount to be agreed) so we are hoping to be able to raise the necessary funds this winter and get the playground back in use in spring 2026.
The group will be organising a series of events over the winter to help raise the funds and it is hoped that you will also consider donating to the fundraising through this Go Fund Me Page.
Ultimately we would like to be able to improve the playground by raising extra funds and adding some more equipment as per the feedback from the village.
The priority now is to raise this initial target to effect the repairs and get the playground open again .
Thank you for reading this and for your support
Christopher and Laura
