Keyan McDonald, Fighting to Live

Donation protected
Sometimes in life there are moments when we need to support each other a little bit more than normal and this one of those.

Friends and Family, as I sit here about to write this, it is with heavy heart that I must bring this news. On Sunday, March 21, 2021, Keyan McDonald 25 years old was rushed to Sunnybrook Hospital after horrific rollover accident. We received the devastating phone call that would change our family’s life.

Keyan has a broken spine, a broken neck, and a brain hemorrhage, but the doctor says the spinal cord was not severed. Keyan is currently in a coma at Sunnybrook Hospital ICU fighting for his life. I know my cousin is a fighter and will not give up on life so easily. Once Keyan is in stable condition, he will have to undergo several other surgeries and intensive rehabilitation at Sunnybrook Hospital throughout the year.

My Aunt, a frontline worker, his distraught mother, had this to say.
“Please help my son Keyan McDonald... my son.. my rock... he helps me care for his disabled brother through rough times and smooth times. He has been a mentor and father figure in my home while I’ve been a single mother after separation. When I was lost and in pain, he was right beside me, sometimes not even giving his own pain any thoughts. My son was in a traffic accident on Sunday, March 21 where he was ejected from the car after visiting his friend with a newborn baby. My son is currently in a critical life-threatening situation fighting for his life at Sunnybrook hospital with head injuries and is in a current state of both his own coma and a further induced coma. I, as a frontline worker have to stay away just to be with my son and try to be his rock now. Please, I am pleading with each and everyone of you here to donate towards my son’s health and possible further rehabilitations. Thank you."

As father of three myself, I can't Imagine the pain and suffering my aunt and family are going through.

We ask that you to find it your hearts to help support Keyan, his mother, and family, as they go through this difficult time. No mother or family should have to go through this so please let's not have another son be lost.

The future is still unknown, but all the thoughts and prayers are welcomed. Please help us ease the financial burden on this family.

Please help us to reach our goal and help my cousin Keyan and his family through this difficult time.
