Kew Half in memory of my dad supporting CALM
I'm raising money in aid of Campaign Against Living Miserably in memory of my dad.
This week marks 10 years since we lost our dad to suicide.
One way I’m marking this is by running the Kew Gardens Half Marathon in April, raising money for CALM, in memory of my dad, and my school friend George. Why is extra money needed now more than ever?
Whilst there have been drives for greater mental health awareness, particularly in the workplace, the suicide rate in England & Wales today is the same as it was in 2001.
As mental health advocate Steve Phillip points out, for the past 15 years we’ve lost more than 6000 people each year in the UK.
The news this week that there will be no new cross-Government plan for mental health means donations to CALM and others are even more important.
Please, if you can, make a donation here, where you'll also get updates on my AI powered training plan!
More information about Campaign Against Living Miserably: Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) is leading a movement against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this. Join the campaign to take a stand against suicide.
