Kevin’s recovery from brain surgery

Donation protected
A final update…
After almost a month in the hospital, my brother is finally home He has made tremendous progress over the past two weeks and continues to improve each day. He is getting incredible care from his family, PT, OT and speech therapists. While he still has a long road ahead of him we know he’ll continue to get stronger and stronger each day. He is our very own super hero and we are grateful and proud beyond words.
From Kevin, Tami, myself and the rest of our family thank you From our whole hearts, thank you for all the love, kindness and support we’ve received over the past month. We couldn’t have done it without your prayers, generosity and love

An update on Kevin…
Thank you for all the love, support and donations during this difficult time. Our family is grateful to have so many people around us who truly care.
On Wednesday May 1, one week from today, Kevin went into surgery to have the tumor removed from his brain. He was expected to be in surgery for 6 hours—It ended taking almost 10. The tumor had attached itself to blood vessels which made bleeding hard to control. It was an unexpected tedious surgery. His Dr was unfortunately unable to remove all of the tumor because of the complications. Kevin will now have to go through radiation after his recovery.
Two days after surgery they discovered he had fluid on his brain and was sent back into the OR to have a drain port put in. Kevin remains in the ICU with the port draining the fluid off his brain. He is having some pretty serious side effects from the surgery as well as the fluid on the brain. They are continuing to monitor him. His recovery has been more challenging than any of us had anticipated. He will have a longer road ahead than what we had originally expected.
My sister in law Tami has been at the hospital every day by his side often staying well past visiting hours to make sure he gets the care he needs. As you can imagine, this has been one of the most stressful, sad and difficult times for our family. We have been surrounded by so much love and support from our family and friends—Thank you.
I will continue to keep the GoFundMe up and running in hopes to raise as much funds for them that I can. Please share his story, donate if you can but above all, please keep my brother in your prayers. Right now he needs them and so do we ✨

Hi, my name is Corrin and I am fundraising for my brother Kevin.
Everyone has heard the phrase, “he’s a family man,” and while it might not mean exactly the same thing to every person who hears it, most would agree that it refers to a man to whom his family is everything. A man, whose heart and soul is tied to his children, his wife, his siblings and parents.
This is exactly what I think of when describing my brother Kevin. Always willing to help, always putting others before himself, full of kindness and strength.
In late March, Kevin began experiencing hearing loss, dizziness and headaches. An MRI was performed and doctors found a sizable tumor on the back of his brain. As you can imagine we were all shocked and devastated by the news. Thankfully, the doctors believe it to be benign, but nonetheless he will have to undergo a brain surgery in early May to remove it. The recovery will be a long sixteen week journey for him and his family.
When I think of Kevin, I think of all the selfless hours he spent working for the FDNY as a firefighter. I think of his time volunteer coaching for his kids sports teams, how he helps out in our community and all the times he offered his assistance without being asked. I think of how much joy he brings to the people around him and to our own family and of the steadfast friend he is. I can’t help but to admire the father he is to the five children he and Tami share. Anyone who has seen Kevin with his children knows that he is a father through and through—he’s a really great dad. My brother is a true family man, by any and every definition. He is kind, humble, hardworking and loves his family fiercely.
I am asking for your help, on behalf of Kevin and his family. Your help at this time will go towards ensuring that his wife, Tami, and the five children that make up their blended family, have the financial help they will need to navigate the difficult road ahead while Kevin is recovering from surgery.
We all appreciate and thank you in advance for anything you are able to contribute. Thank you for taking the time to read Kevin’s story.
