Kerswella is a registered charity no 1199459 and provides a range of well-being and support services to our socially isolated, older residents with the aim to reduce social isolation and promote social inclusion . We are based at the Kingskerswell and Ipplepen Health Centres and support patients of these practices and residents from those villages.
Through our team of wonderful volunteers, we offer transport services to health appointments, befriending visits, lunches, coffee mornings, lunches and other social get togethers with guest speakers, entertainers and visits out. Our regular mini bus day trips offer another lifeline to many - giving the opportunity to get out and about with others. Our medical transport services is a lifeline to those who have no other easy way to access critical health appointments.
Our Memory Cafes offer a safe and inclusive space for those living with dementia and for their care partners.
All these activities are becoming increasingly expensive to maintain and although our core running costs are supported at present by The National Lottery Community Fund and we do receive small grants from local sources, every donation from the public helps toward, for instance, mini-bus hire, paying professional support at such as art therapy or music at our Memory Cafes, putting on an extra special lunch at Christmas for our residents to more mundane things like ensuring our Wheelchair accessible car has diesel. These are just a few examples of how donations are used.
We thank you for your support
