Kenya floods: help for George’s family and community
Donation protected
Over the past month, Kenya has been devastated by heavy rains and floods. The water has caused dam bursts and several rivers to overflow across the country, with a death toll counting 230 people, 80 missing, and 212.000 displaced (data of Wednesday May 8th) - more info here
Our dear friend George Mungai is a highly professional Kenyan safari guide, serving clients across all the parks of the country. George is particularly dear to us for his kindness, humility, and devotion to offer a better future to his kids. Unfortunately, many of the parks and camps have been devastated by overflowing rivers, causing George and other safari guides (who work on an ad-hoc basis) to be left with no job for an undefined period of time.
George and his wife have 2 kids. When we reached out to know how things were going, they humbly asked for any small help to buy food and sanitary essentials for their kids.
We are raising money to support George and his village community, making sure the donations are used in full transparency (and differently to the corruption practices that too often affect the area).
Any support is precious to help George’s family and community in a very difficult moment. We are grateful to you!
Asante sana ❤️
