Kenya Expedition - Sponsored Walk - Jake Hopkins
Donation protected
Hi - my name is Jake, and I am 15 years old. I am fundraising for a self-funded trip to Kenya with Camps International where I am volunteering my time for 4 weeks to give vital help to poor and vulnerable communities in Kenya, as well as working on environmental/conservation projects. I will be helping to build a school, building a fence to protect the elephants and their habitat, and assisting farmers to catch and deworm their goats, all during the school summer holidays in 2024.
To help raise the funds, on 24-25 June 2023, I am doing a sponsored 2-day 32-mile walk (including a campover) with my friend James who is also going to Kenya. We will walk from my house in Rushton to his house in Pulverbach, orienteering ourselves (without parents!) following the Shropshire Way, walking approx. 16 miles each day.
Day 1 will include setting off from my house in Rushton, walking up and down the Wrekin, walking to school (Wrekin College) and then from school to Haughmond Hill, where we will spend the night camping and get some much-needed kip! On Day 2, we will walk from Haughmond to and through Shrewsbury and then head south along the Shropshire Way to Pulverbach where James lives – it’s going to be a real challenge! Let’s hope we don’t get lost!
It would be fantastic if you could sponsor me – every penny is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Jake
I would also like to thank my corporate sponsors J.M. Finn and Throgmorton Associates Wealth Management Ltd.
