Kenton Women's Village Project, 2024
Donation protected
My name is Katherine, and I am a Scout with Troop 5071 of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) in Northeast Portland Oregon fundraising for my Eagle Project.
While thinking about ways to give back to the Portland community, I wanted to focus on providing services for the homeless. This led me to partner with Kenton Women’s Village, a transitional housing program for women in North Portland.
Our service project is intended to improve the community space there by preventing water damage, improving accessibility, and providing basic maintenance. We will:
- Build a paver patio for the outdoor recreation area
- Construct stools for elevated bunk beds
- Seal leaks in the kitchen and shower
- Install a handrail for the Office
The money will go towards paying for these supplies along with food, water, and safety equipment for the volunteers executing these tasks. We plan to begin work the weekends of February 17th through March 31st of 2024.
Any leftover money goes back to Catholic Charities (the parent charity of Kenton Women's Village) to re-invest in future projects.
Your contributions are greatly appreciated!!!
