Kentish Walks Fund Raiser

Kentish Walks needs your financial support to continue the work that we have been doing. Just a small donation of 5 dollars to our gofundme account would give us the resources to buy supplies, materials and equipment that we need to continue to develop, improve and promote existing tracks.

Kentish Walks is a very small group of volunteers who set out to  discover, develop and promote all the walks in Kentish. We have been reasonably successful so far in drawing attention to some of the wonderful walks we have in our municipality but we still have a long way to go. To date we have Identified 59 tracks in the Kentish municipality that need attention, not including the cradle Mountain area, and there are probably a lot more. We have created the Kentish Walks Facebook Group to give members better access to information and GPX files. We have currently more than 1150 members and more people are joining every day. We have printed and distributed over two thousand brochures. We have purchased 2000 track markers from New Zealand and have installed over 1000 of those replacing flagging tape and the plan is to replace all the tape on all our tracks in the future. We now have the capability to create information signs, in house, that are being installed at strategic points along the tracks. Each sign has to be individually created for that particular point and that is time consuming and costly. It would have cost way too much to have them printed by professionals. We recently removed all the tape on the Forth Falls Track and installed new track markers and info signs. Redwater Creek falls has all new track markers and info signs as well. We recently installed 20 new info signs on our Signature track, The New Minnow Falls Track, we still have to replace the tape on the upper section above the middle falls plateau and install a few steps at 4 pinch points. The Dasher Falls has a nice new stairway and is now quite easy to access. We were instrumental in bringing the Montana falls complex back into the public domain and we have some great new sign there now. We are in close contact with the Kentish Council and that has been beneficial to our walking tracks as well. We can currently only print B&W brochures because we can not afford the $500.00 required to replenish the toner on our professional Laser printer. Your donation would be much appreciated.
