Help Us Honour Watford Legend Kenny Jackett with a Giant Surfer Banner
The 1881 supporters group is proud to launch this fundraiser to honour one of the greatest figures in Watford Football Club’s history – Kenny Jackett.
With the blessing and support of Kenny Jackett’s family, we want to create a 45m x 35m giant surfer banner that celebrates his incredible contribution to Watford FC and gives supporters the opportunity to show their appreciation in a truly unforgettable way.
Our target is £5,900, which is the full cost of designing, producing and delivering the banner. Every penny donated will go directly towards making this tribute a reality.
Kenny’s story is Watford through and through. Joining the club as a schoolboy at the age of 12, he went on to spend his entire playing career wearing the yellow shirt, making 428 first-team appearances and becoming one of the club’s all-time appearance holders. He was a key member of Graham Taylor’s legendary side that achieved promotion to the First Division, finished runners-up in the top flight in 1982–83 and reached the 1984 FA Cup Final. Along the way, he also earned 31 caps for Wales.
When injury forced his playing career to end far too early, Kenny’s commitment to Watford never wavered. He moved straight into coaching before taking charge as Watford’s manager during the 1996–97 season, the first step in what became a hugely respected managerial career spanning more than two decades with various clubs.
At 45 metres by 35 metres, this surfer banner will be one of the largest displays ever seen at Vicarage Road. Our aim is to create a moment that reflects Kenny’s extraordinary service to the club and shows his family just how much he means to generations of Watford supporters.
Whether you can donate £2, £5, £10, £20 or more, every contribution brings us closer to our goal. If you can’t donate, sharing this page with fellow Hornets supporters would be just as valuable.
This is a fan-led tribute, created with the blessing of Kenny Jackett’s family and driven by the passion of the Watford family. Together, we can give one of our greatest-ever servants the tribute he truly deserves.
One Club. One Legend. One Last Thank You.
