My Name is Holly Cain and I am on a mission to help Kara and Sam Kennedy become parents through adoption.
Kara and I have taught together for over 8 years now. In the time I have known her, Kara has been the example of a perfect caregiver from the very beginning. She is kind, compassionate, patient and most of all energetic and fun! Kids cannot help but gravitate towards her sunny personality. I also have had the privilege of knowing Sam since the beginning of their marriage. Sam is crazy about his wife and is the perfect match for Kara. He works hard to provide for their family and ensures that they are continually building their marriage through regular date nights and thoughtful gestures. Sam's excitement at the possibility of becoming a father absolutely brought tears to my eyes when he learned there was a baby in need of a home. He jumped in whole-heartedly and has been ready for wherever The Lord is leading them in this journey.
The week before Mother's Day, I received an email from a birth mom that she was 4-5 weeks from her due date and was still desperate to find the perfect adoptive family. The Lord laid it on my heart to approach Kara and Sam about the possibility of adopting this baby. Without hesitation, Sam and Kara were all in! They met with the birth mom less than 3 days later and she fell in love with them instantly! Now with a baby girl due at any time, Kara and Sam have to hire attorneys (one for each birth parent as well as their own representation), prepare for court, complete an adoption home study, file endless amounts of paperwork and prepare to cover any medical bills for the birth mom.
As you can imagine with no notice at all Kara and Sam have to do the impossible and raise enough money for this adoption in practically no time! Any expenses raised in this account will go directly to Kara and Sam to use towards the adoption.
It goes without saying that the support you can provide in any amount will be greatly appreciated. You cannot put a price tag on what it will mean to Kara and Sam to be parents, but by helping them fund this adoption, you can help make their dream and desire of becoming parents a reality.
