Ken and Carol

My name is Laura Grahl, from Eden, WI, and I am the niece to two of the most wonderful people who mean the absolute world to me. I know some of you are looking for a way to help in the disaster relief of Hurricane Ian. I want to show you one practical way in which you may pray to help the most wonderful people through this fundraiser.

This is my aunt Carol and my uncle Kenny: two of the most generous, humble, and kindhearted people you will ever meet.

They absolutely loved living in Fort Myers, Florida as it has always been a dream of theirs. From the ground up, little by little, year after year through much hard work and sacrifice, they made their house a home, and it was one that my family and I held so many memories in. Ken and Carol were always the first to welcome us and others in, no questions asked, sometimes on a moment’s notice, and share their home and anything they had with us or others who came to visit.

Because of the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian, my aunt and uncle lost their entire house and my aunt’s only car. They lost the place they call home. They lost so much of their entire community. Their home is completely lost, as their surge went up to their ceiling. The reality of this situation is crippling to even think about.

Anyone who knows these two know that they would never ask for anything, and instead give anything they had to help others. Think of the times these two have prayed for you, hugged you, shared a meal or their home with you, or made you laugh. I pray you can encourage them with a note or a Bible verse, and can help donate monetarily towards the enormity of cost that has been put on them from this hurricane as they begin to pick up the pieces.

What has been so incredible to see is the peace that they have through all of this, knowing that God still has them in His hands. Even in this time they have been encouraging and blessing others.

I pray you would feel lead to bless them in this way, and please continue to pray for them and all who are directly impacted by Hurricane Ian.
