The Bromyard Recreation Ground or Kempson Players as it is known locally was given to the people of Bromyard by Lucy Kempson back in 1946. In 1973 the Council allowed the Bromyard Recreation Ground (charity number 525159) to be established. Unfortunately for around 15 years the park had been stuck in the middle of a dispute between the Council and the Committee to see who was responsible for its upkeep. Sadly the park was left to get into a state of disrepair which came to a head in the summer of 2015 when the park was shut for health and safety reasons..
Since then the park had the Constitution set up in November 2016 and the Committee was put in place to look after the park. It is run by Volunteers who have done an amazing job of changing how the park looks.

Damaged equipment has been replaced. fresh paint to brighten the park has been applied as well.
We have tremendous support from the local Community. The High School made and donated a picnic bench. We've had park clean up days where the community have come along to pick up litter, weeding, cleaning etc. We've also had some amazing fund raising activities including Fetes, Bingo's, Discos, Party in the park and more. All of which have been very well supported.

Unfortunately the Equipment is reaching the stage where it needs to be replaced but the costs are far more than we can raise with just the activities alone. We are entirely dependent on donations and grants to fund the development of the park and new equipment.
We would love to get a MUGA ( Muliti Use Games Area ) where the children can play football, basketball, netball, tennis etc all in an enclosed area thats safe for them and other users of the park. similar to the picture below. It would make so many children's dreams come true to be able to have an area like this.

The whole Community have been amazing and have got behind us but we need your help to give Bromyard the park it's children need and deserve. We want a park that's for the whole Community where families can visit and share quality time together.
