Kemi Goes to Kenya Part 2!!

Hi Everyone! Thank you for finding your way to my funding page. I am excited to share with you that after an 8 year hiatus, I am finally returning to a big love and passion of mine. This year, I will have the opportunity to join Flowing Rivers as they set out on their annual missionary trip to Kenya to support vulnerable and disadvantaged communities and once again, I am asking you to partner with me on this endeavour.

Flowing Rivers

I’ve had the privilege to see first-hand the impact of the work carried out by Flowing Rivers not just abroad but here at home too. From their voluntary work at Care homes, prisons, serving the homeless community and running a local food bank, it's clear that Flowing Rivers have community at heart. To add to that, away from home, they have been supporting Sure24, an orphanage in Nakuru, Kenya for over 10 years through regular funding, volunteer support and much more. Many of Sure24's residents are former street kids aged 2-19, who were rescued from the harshness and social detachment of street life.

The Trip

The trip will take place from the 29th November-10th December 2024 and will consist of medical camps hosted by medical professionals, as well as business training seminars, career coaching, study sessions etc.

On this trip, we have to committed to:

- Run free medical days for the residents of the local area

- Provide sanitary pads to the young women

- Run finance and business workshops to help equip people to be financially independent

- Run mental health and well-being workshops

- Build and install a basketball court

- Run an evangelistic basketball camp

- Conduct and institute feeding programs for the orphanage and dumpsite

- Provide clothing and shoes

- Run revival services in the local areas

- And generally meet needs as they arise

About me

In the daytime, I work in homelessness, working with rough sleepers and vulnerable adults with complex support needs so I'm no stranger to a bit of grit! I'm a Christian, a wife, a mum of 3 and a not-so-secret mini adventurer! I'm doing this because I truly believe that we all have our part to play in the grand scheme of life no matter how small, a little love goes along way.

For the next few months, I will be taking on mini adventures to raise funds for the amazing work starting with the Big Half marathon in London. Please support with whatever you can, your contributions will directly fund the construction of sports facilities, providing the children with a safe and engaging environment. Additionally, your donations will continue to support the education of children living on dump sites, offering them a chance to break free from the cycle of poverty through education.
