On November 6, Kelvin and another coworker were leaving work and walking on the sidewalk to the bus stop at 4 p.m. They were hit from behind by what we expect from a drunk driver since he tried to flee the scene. The area they were walking in is inside a heavily trafficked neighborhood, so luckily, a bystander chased the culprit down and made him return. Kelvin has been in the hospital since recovering from traumatic brain injuries. He is making slow progress but has not been able to speak or function properly since the accident. His sister has flown in from Miami to be by his side and waits at the hospital daily for updates from the doctor. Kelvin came to the US for better opportunities and to send money back to his children in Nicaragua. He is a quiet man who always completes his work and is kind to everyone around him. El 6 de noviembre, Kelvin y otro compañero de trabajo salían del trabajo y caminaban por la acera hasta la parada de autobús a las 4 p.m. Fueron impactados por detrás por lo que esperamos de un conductor ebrio ya que intentó huir del lugar. El área por la que caminaban se encuentra dentro de un vecindario con mucho tráfico, por lo que, afortunadamente, un transeúnte persiguió al culpable y lo obligó a regresar. Kelvin ha estado en el hospital desde que se recuperó de una lesión cerebral traumática. Está progresando lentamente pero no ha podido hablar ni funcionar correctamente desde el accidente. Su hermana voló desde Miami para estar a su lado y espera en el hospital diariamente las actualizaciones del médico. Kelvin vino a Estados Unidos en busca de mejores oportunidades y para enviar dinero a sus hijos en Nicaragua. Es un hombre tranquilo, que siempre cumple con su trabajo y es amable con todos los que lo rodean. Esta tragedia ha golpeado los corazones de todos los aquí presentes y oramos diariamente por una recuperación total.
