Kelly & Jason’s IVF journey
Donation protected
Hey guys,
Those who know me know I’ve wanted to be a mum since I was a child, so facing these issues today is challenging.
It’s been a little difficult with the NHS being pushed away at the start & battling for a gynaecology referral. Luckily, we got there in the end, had a few other treatments which didn’t work, but we’re grateful to be getting ICSI, a type of IVF treatment.
Unfortunately not everything is covered the IVF injections are only funded up to a certain dose, and if we need a higher dose, each injection is over three hundred.
Other medications, like Progesterone are needed because of known issues from my past Letrozole cycles.
We’re also wanting to use EmbryoScope to keep an eye on how our embryos develop in the early stages, to hopefully get the best out of our cycle.
This is all looking at over £1,000 (not including any extra IVF injection costs).
We only get one “funded” NHS round & if we’re lucky enough to get embryos, there are expensive yearly costs to keep these for the future. If the funded ICSI cycle doesn’t work, we then could be looking at thousands privately, but hopefully that won’t be necessary!
We weren’t sure about sharing this, but realistically we can’t afford it all. This journey Is hard for us both, but we’re grateful that we have each other.
Any support towards our journey means the world. We’ve always been the type of people to say & believe “every penny counts.” If you can help, we appreciate it, if you can’t that’s also ok.
Love
