Hi, I'm Katy Wood, daughter of Keith Wood. My wonderful Dad passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly on Christmas Day 2022. He was an exceptional man with a kind heart and he always had time for everyone he met. Dad adored his family and his many friends, doing so much to help his students and the local community over the years. My family, friends and I are walking 51 miles over three days along the Minster Way - York Minster to Beverley Minster - to raise money for at least one defibrillator (potentially two), a case to house it and any associated running/fitting costs, in memory of my Dad. The first will be situated in or around the Angel pub in Beverley, East Yorkshire, and the potential second at the Lord Nelson pub in the same town, where Dad had many friends and enjoyed visiting. Any additional funds raised will be donated to a charity which meant a lot to Dad. Keith's Memorial Walk will take place from Friday 15th September to Sunday 17th September 2023. It's important to state a defibrillator could not have saved my Dad. However, it could save one of his friends, or another member of the public, in the future and we want to do something in his memory to benefit the local community he adored.
