Hello, my name is Chad Clanton, and I've just removed myself and my 3 children from a bad situation at home which I can't expand on owing to ongoing legal considerations, other than to say that I've been granted emergency and de facto custody of all three by the court. As a result, we've incurred significant ongoing legal and living expenses, having paid over $16,000 in the past couple of months, and are now barely scraping by. As of last week, we can no longer afford our attorney, and without representation, my kids will likely return to the terrible situation they were in where we lived before.
The four of us have moved to a new area, the kids are in school and have been enrolled in therapy, and I've started a new county job, but as of right now I simply can't afford our attorney, despite the fact that we actually have an incredibly strong case.
Normally, I would be humbled and embarrassed to air something like this, much less ask for money for it, but I'm almost out of options and time. I didn't have my daughter for the first two weeks before our emergency hearing, and the after-effects have been heartbreaking, though she is slowly beginning to come around, and my sons are afraid to go back. I've never begged before, but I'm almost there now, because I'll do whatever it takes to protect and care for my kids. Any help you can give will go first to attorney fees (he's actually a good guy and a great attorney, but isn't working pro bono), and then to therapy for the kids and living expenses until I get settled in the new job and we get support worked out.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and thank you for any and all help you can provide by way of support, prayers, sharing, or otherwise; you have no idea how much it is appreciated.
