Help McKemie Place Keep Its Doors Open

Retiring Our Debt. Securing Our Doors. Protecting Every Woman We Serve.

Our Goal: $550,000

Since opening our doors in 2007, McKemie Place has been a place of safety, hope, and new beginnings for women experiencing homelessness throughout Southwest Alabama.

What began by sheltering fewer than 100 women in our first year has grown into a vital emergency shelter serving women throughout Mobile, Baldwin, and Washington counties.

Today, McKemie Place can provide a safe place for 60 women at a time, with five bedrooms, seven showers, meals, support, and a path toward independence.

But keeping those doors open comes with a significant financial burden.

We Need Your Help to Secure Our Future.

Our goal is to raise $550,000 to pay down our remaining debt and protect McKemie Place for the women who depend on us.

Every dollar donated brings us one step closer to becoming debt-free and ensuring that women who have nowhere else to turn will continue to have somewhere safe to go.

Your gift helps protect more than a building.

It protects a bed.
It protects a meal.
It protects a shower.
It protects a woman who may have nowhere else to turn.
It protects hope.

Since opening our doors, more than 5,000 women have been served by McKemie Place. We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, because homelessness doesn't keep business hours.

Will You Help Us Keep the Door Open?

Whether you give $25, $50, $100, $500, or whatever you can afford, your contribution matters.

If you cannot donate, please share this campaign with your family, friends, churches, businesses, community organizations, and social media networks.

Together, we can retire our debt, strengthen McKemie Place, and make sure that when a woman has nowhere to go, there is still a door open for her.
