Keeping Jack Home
Donation protected
Jack’s name obviously isn’t Jack but I would rather his information not to be public on a page like this.
Most people who know us know the circumstances under which Jack came to live with us: his parents lost custody of him to CAS at 7 months old and if no one stepped up he would have been made a crown ward shortly after he turned 2. We had thought it would be a temporary solution, but the situation which he was removed from led CAS to seek a permanent home for him, so he came to live with us the month after his second birthday, and later that year we were granted sole primary custody.
Recently one of his biological parents has been upset with our unwillingness to change visits last minute and provide them with unsupervised access, so they are threatening to bring us to court to return him to their custody. Although this is very unlikely to happen, we will want to fight as hard as possible to make sure he is not uprooted from his life.
Jack is a part of our family, and that’s undeniable. He knows us as such, and our biological children know him as their brother. He has lived with us for half of his life. Our lives revolve around helping him to catch up developmentally and overcome the things he endured as an infant that no child should.
He is loved, and removing him from our home would cause serious psychological damage to all of the children involved.
All of the money raised will be used for legal council.
