Keeping East Malling warm this winter

There’s no avoiding the impact that the current financial crisis is going to have on people this winter. The sad reality is that, even with the proposed government support, many local residents won’t be able to afford the rising costs of fuel, leaving them with some very difficult choices to make.

The team at the East Malling Centre are determined to help, and are currently looking at a number of ways we can support the local community to help weather the economic storm. Our first initiative is a ‘pay it forward’ campaign. We know that there are some people who are lucky enough not to need the Government support that everyone is getting . So we are asking those in that position to donate some or all of their allowances to help those less fortunate.

Donate what you can afford, and help the East Malling Centre raise funds to distribute a range of cold-combatting items such as;

• Slow cookers

• Hot water bottles

• Blankets

• Draft excluders

• Fuel vouchers
