Hello!
My name is Aizik Diaz, and I am a 17-year-old from Merced, CA. My mother and I moved to WA on Dec 4, 2021, because my mother had gotten a job at UW, and to get away from the dangerous environment our family was surrounded by. We lived with my brother and his wife in a 2-bed, 2-bath apartment until we could afford to rent our first home in Redmond, WA. After a little while, my dad and my older sister Charlotte moved in with us. It was rough for my dad at first; trying to find a job wasn't easy, but he did it, and I am very proud of him. My sister, on the other hand, had an extremely hard time adjusting to Washington and Redmond High School. She was struggling until after her graduation in 2024. She worked numerous jobs, eventually getting herself a start to her adulthood. I've gone from job to job to get some extra money and experience, but not enough to have a significant impact on my family's financial situation.
Currently, my oldest sister Aimee is raising a child on her own with our family's love and support. Her daughter/my niece's name is Wednesday. She just turned 3 and she loves to be at our house. I think of her like the little sister I've always dreamed of having. We always play together, and everybody that knows her or has met her makes an impact on her life, from learning manners, to telling stories. She's the sweetest little girl you'd ever meet; she has so many favorite colors and different sayings that will make you laugh until you fall over, she loves to dance and most of all, she loves her cousin Theo. Theo is her best friend, and my nephew. Aimee and Wednesday plan on moving into our house in February, so that Aimee can save money and provide for her daughter. Instead of dropping her off at our house, she could be saying, "I'll see you later!" and coming home after work. We don't have anywhere near enough space in our house for 6 people, let alone raising a child. We also don't have enough time to make as much money as we need to move out. This could result in us leaving Washington entirely and starting all over again in our process of staying away from unsafe areas. Please help us try to find a new home, and create new opportunities for my family. All donations mean everything to us and WILL have an impact no matter the quantity.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day and reading this. Have an amazing year everybody.
