On Friday, October 31st, Victoria went into the hospital due to high blood pressure because she was 40 weeks pregnant. On Saturday, 11-1, her water broke in the early morning hours and labor began. Unfortunately, during the day, complications began and did not stop and still have not. All day, baby Sophia’s heart rate was fluctuating. Later that night, Victoria was rushed into an emergency c-section due to Baby Sophia getting stuck for hours due to her position in the pelvis area as the doctors were unaware of In distress, Sophias position was sunny side up with a decreased heart rate and lack of oxygen. Immediately, Sophia was rushed out of the room and into the NICU due to her not breathing. Upon arrival in the NICU, more complications and concerns arose, leading her to be medically transferred immediately to Children’s Hospital of Atlanta.

Victoria is currently suffering extensively from post-birth complications as well. During this time, from trying to have a vaginal delivery turned into an emergency c-section, but due to wanting to be with her daughter Baby Sophia, she discharged herself from the hospital to follow her to CHOA in case any more complications arise with the health of Sophia.

As any parent would do with their child, especially a new parent with a 3-day-old newborn.

CHOA has a program, the Ronald McDonald housing project, for parents to stay close by to the hospital. Unfortunately, they do not qualify by just a few miles outside of the range of qualification for the help of this program.

We are looking and hoping for some assistance with money to get a hotel room for a hotel closest to the Children’s Hospital so mom and dad can be with Sophia as they navigate through this difficult situation and any other amenities they might need!
