Hello Family & Friends,

The Ruscitto Family Home at 205 Front Street in Schenectady has been in our family for over 100 years. It is where we as a family all began. Some of us have lived there; if not, our parents most likely did. Our grandparents certainly graced the doors, as our great-grandparents owned and resided there. This house is where OUR story begins, YOUR story.

Recently, Carmella passed away, God rest her soul, leaving Mary Ann, her sister, in the house. Mary Ann has been burdened with repairs and upkeep costs plus the taxes. Probate cannot begin until after March due to a grant that Carmella received for energy updates from the city. If ownership is transferred before that time, then the grant must be paid back in its entirety.

In the meantime, there is a mortgage that must be paid, utilities for 2 units, and, as stated, taxes. Additionally, Carmella's unit is in desperate need of cleaning and repairs in preparation to rent it out. Attorney's fees also must be paid to process probate.

We are all getting older, and most of us are unable to physically help due to where we live (out of the area) or physical limitations.

Mary Ann was in no position financially when Carmella passed to afford this transition on her own. Therefore, I am asking that we, as a family, gather together to help keep our family home in the family.

I haven't met any of you, but I hope you find it in your heart this Christmas season to give for the sake of our family homestead and family member in need.
